Taccor Gaming ARK Server Rules v1.8 [20 November 2015]

This server is hosted by Taccor Gaming and will thus adhere to rules governed by the admins appointed by Taccor Gaming. The admins who have been appointed by the server owner have agreed to be just and fair when dealing with any situation that may arise. They have agreed to be honest, responsible and represent the ideals of Taccor Gaming when going about their duty of supervising the server and its player base.

Your admins on the server are the following;
-Necro [Server Owner] -RexArawr [Head Admin] -Ace
-West

Please be aware that the PvP rules are still being worked on for weekends. Please be patient until then. Rules will be added when the final decision is made.

Terms and Conditions:

By playing on Taccor Gaming you understand that you, the player, agree to adhere to all rules laid down by the admins. Failure to comply with the rules may result in the removal of the player from the server permanently.

Our Goal: The aim behind Ark Taccor Gaming is to provide a server for the community to play on and enjoy themselves. We offer an amazing server with real-time updates, world saves, backups and maintenance. Our admin staff have been selected and have been entrusted not to abuse their powers. An external moderator has also be appointed to monitor the server logs to ensure that no abuse takes place. Any complaints regarding any admins can be done through this moderator on TeamSpeak. We encourage players to report any admin abuse to the moderator.

Screenshots:

We request all of our players to take plenty of screenshots while playing the game, as well as when witnessing any rule breaking. Steam offers a service of uploading screenshots for other to view. Please use this feature. This makes our jobs as admins much simpler when presiding over disputes between players. This also allows the admin to take definitive action against players breaking the rules.

Alpha Game

Please be advised that the game is still in Alpha. This means that any glitches, bugs or loss of dino’s and/or characters will not be refunded because of the game’s Alpha state. This will happen. It is part of the game. In the case of loss of player/character due to another player, the items might be refunded if the situation is right. Do not kill other players in the hopes that you will be getting extra items. The fact that you were killed by another player will be investigated.

Rules:

  • Admin Discretion: Please note; it is up to the admin that is assisting you to determine what consequences may apply to the player, or their situation. The admin has the discretion to; kick, temporary ban and permanently ban the player from the server. Should the player feel that the admin was too critical, they may apply for an appeal. Please see the appeal process.

  • PvPvE: Ark Taccor Gaming is a PvPvE server, meaning; player versus player versus environment, which encourages players to engage with each other in both a hostile and friendly manner. Each player has the choice of combining their strength with other players to battle the mightiest dinosaurs, or to be a vicious cutthroat. The choice is yours and we encourage players to be free spirited and open minded when playing on our server.

  • Role Playing: While we encourage players to make their own decisions while on our server, we stress that every interaction with other players is performed in a “role playing” manner. Failure to initiate role-play is against the server rules and is seen as a very severe offense. The most common case of failed role play is when a player kills another player without initiating any form of role play. Communication to other players is vital and can be done by pressing the default “B” key. Players wishing to communicate via text to other players within a close proximity can be done by pressing the default “insert” key. We stress however that it is the player’s responsibility to have a working microphone and be familiar with their own key bindings.  Not knowing the key bindings will not be an acceptable excuse, as well as not having a working microphone.

  • Global Chat: Please note: Global chat is not the place to declare war or issue death threats that can then be acted out in the world. Global chat is there to allow players to communicate globally and promote their role playing characters biographies, or peaceful role play activities. Any player versus player action that occurs in the game cannot use global chat as a role play reason.
  • Super Meat

Each player receives 5 super meat to use on any dinosaur of their choosing. Contact an admin and ask them to send it to you or use it for you on your dinosaur.

When using super meat please be aware that the meat spoils in a span of 1 minute, this means that you cannot request it before the dinosaur has been knocked out. The meat must be put into the dinosaur’s inventory the moment you receive it to secure the tame.

Players are allowed to use a meat on behalf of someone else only on the condition that the other player has confirmed it with an admin.

No Building Zones:

“No building zones”, are protected zones at which resources spawn. In no way may a building be placed in these specified zones unless permission is given. In the case of a player disagreeing with the placement of another tribe’s building, please do so in a mature and respectable way.

Restricted zones:

    • INSIDE THE VOLCANO: The volcano has been brought to our attention many times, the resource spawns are in large volumes and must stay open to the public. Building in the volcano may only take part on the outer rim or in a manner that resource spawns are not blocked in any way.
    • INSIDE OF LAND CAVES: Please be aware that building inside of caves is prohibited. This does not however include sea caves. Underwater Caves may only be built in on the condition that the cave is not blocked off to other players. NO DINOSAURS MAY BE LEFT INSIDE OF CAVES. Dinosaurs found inside of caves, on the condition of no tribe members being online, may be killed.
    • OBELISKS: Obelisks must be kept open for players to be able to summon bosses as well as upload (Dinosaurs/Characters) or Download (Only Characters). Buildings found will be demolished. Do not block entrance to an obelisk in any way.
    • ON MOUNTAINS: Mountains are huge resource providing areas, therefore building on a mountain and blocking spawns will be considered as an offense and removed. In the case of a player finding that a tribe’s base is blocking spawns proof will be needed. You can provide the proof by logging into single player and screenshotting the location from an aerial view for admins to review. Mountains may only be built on where no spawns are being blocked.

Building Spam:

Although players may build whatever and wherever they feel like, we would like players to understand the frustration of a tribe placing 10 different outposts with nothing inside. Any bases found that has no content or dinosaurs inside or outside will be demolished. In the case of a tribe having more than 5 outposts, the tribe will be given a warning.

Although we love how populated the server feels with bases all over the island, we do not want to potentially discourage new players from joining our server. Please do understand that spamming buildings across the island will cause many players to become unhappy.

If players would like to discuss a Building Spam Case, please contact an admin to assist and review the case.

  • Player Killing: Player killing is forbidden unless roleplaying has been initiated and the attacker has identified himself as a threat. The defender must then reply before either the attacker or defender is allowed to continue. The defender must then state their intent; either submissive or hostile. Either the defender will comply with the attacker’s wishes or defend themselves. From this point on player killing may commence. The defender may kill the attacker and vice versa, regardless of what stance is chosen by the defender. Failure to initiate role play when attacking another player is a severe offense and may result in a permanent ban.

Tamed Dinosaur Killing:

Dinosaur killing is forbidden unless one of the following conditions are met;

  1. The defender’s dinosaurs were set to aggressive and attacked a neutral player, or their dinosaur.
  2. Role playing has been initiated with intent to harm either the player or their dinosaur. Please see Player Killing rule with regards to initiating aggressive role-play.
  3. A tribe war has been initiated. Please see the Tribe War rule.

Killing other player’s dinosaurs while one of these conditions are not met is forbidden and considered a severe offense. The punishment for this is one of the following;

  1. The offending player must tame three dinosaurs of the same type but of lower level.
  2. The offending player must tame one dinosaur of the same type but of higher level.
  3. The offending player will face a 48 hour ban.

Turret Killing:

Turrets must remain inactive / offline unless the tribe owning the turret is currently involved in a Tribe War. Plant Species X may be turned on, only on the condition that the range is set to SHORT. Turret Killing is forbidden unless the following condition is met;

  1. The attacking player’s tribe is currently at war with another tribe. Please see the Tribe War rule.
  2. The turret was placed inside the base walls (building) and a player managed to get inside.

Killing a player or their dinosaur with a turret when this condition is not met is seen as a severe offense. The punishment for this is one of the following;

Should a dinosaur be killed;

  1. The offending tribe must tame three dinosaurs of the same type but of lower level.
  2. The offending tribe must tame one dinosaur of the same type but of higher level.

Should a player be killed;

  1. The offending tribe must replace all the gear owned by that player.

While we do not want to limit our players in any way we ask that they understand the complications that may arise from the use of turrets.

Babies:

Breeding and maturation must be respected by other players, in the case of a player killing another player’s baby or deliberately causing a fertilized egg to spoil/die, the offending player may choose between the following solutions:

  1. Provide the player with a fertilized egg of the same species. Depending on the level of the dinosaur that has been killed, the offending player must discuss level and type with the tribe involved. DO include an admin in the case of offending players refusing to do so. DO NOT include an admin if you have already agreed upon the solution (except in the case of a player going against the arrangement), DO provide proof to an admin before approaching us of players disregarding the rules of your agreement.
  2. A player may disregard the offending player’s actions. If the offending player continuously kills or causes the death of another player’s babies, they will be given a warning.
  3. The offending player may, if requested to, provide the other player with a dinosaur of equivalent level.

PLAYERS MUST PROVIDE AN ADMIN WITH PROOF OF THE ARRANGEMENT IN THE CASE OF A PLAYER MAKING A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE OFFENDING PLAYER NOT RESPECTING THE AGREED UPON SOLUTION.

Tribe Wars

  1. Initiation: Tribe Wars are wars sanctioned by admins between two tribes. Any tribe who wishes to wage war on another tribe must approach an admin before fighting can legally begin. Once the admin has been informed they will notify the other tribe. Fighting can then legally commence one hour after an admin has been informed or the time that is agreed upon with the opposing tribe. The server will restart to have an updated message of the day.
  2. Fighting: Once both tribes are informed of the war, fighting can legally take place for the next twenty four hours. All players, dinosaurs and structures related to tribes at war can be targeted. There are no limits to what may be attacked. Important: Players or dinosaurs found outside the tribe’s base may be attacked by the other tribe involved in the war.
  3. Base Raiding: Base raiding while a tribe war is active is acceptable. All structures are fair game to attack by the tribe involved in the war. This will encourage people to build their bases with a tactical mind as well as make use of the Vault. The only condition is that at least one tribe member must be online to defend their base or dinosaurs. Base raiding may also take place if a role playing incident occurred within a reasonable distance from a player’s base, and that player sought shelter in their base. The distance considered reasonable is left for admin’s discretion.
  4. Continuation: After the first twenty four hours of fighting if the defending tribe wishes to terminate the war they must inform an admin. Should both parties wish to continue the war after the first twenty four hours, the war will continue for another two days. These two days will make the total wartime three days.
  5. Cessation: Termination of war will take effect exactly twenty four hours after the war has been initiated, unless the defending tribe wishes to continue the war. Cessation of war will be sent via global admin message. A restart will take place and the message of the day will be updated. The tribe that initiated the war may not initiate a war against another tribe for 48 hours.
  6. Surrender: Should the defending tribe wish to resolve the war within the first twenty four hours they must agree to the terms given to them by the attacking tribe. These terms are governed by the attacking tribe and they may ask for anything.
  7. Allies: A tribe must choose one ally to assist in the tribe war. The defending and attacking tribe must inform the admins with regards to allies. When the attacking tribe informs the admins of their war they must tell the admin who their allies are. When the defending tribe is informed of the war it is their responsibility to inform the admin of any allies who will be assisting them in the war. Allies may not approach admins claiming to join the war to help. If the admin was not informed about any allies and the war commences, the allies may not join the war.
  8. Pre-war status: 24 hours before the war begins, the pre-war status will be implemented. Meaning, the two tribes who are partaking in war will be allowed to turn their turrets on. Anyone who enters the area and dies, will be acceptable and fair. The rule is implemented to protect the tribes from foul-play.

  • Base Raiding: Base Raiding is against the server rules unless one of the prior conditions mentioned above are fulfilled. However, should a player leave their base open to intrusion by other players it is their own fault. Players obtaining access to other player’s bases via means of an unlocked, or open door are at full liberty to help themselves to any storage boxes they find. Bear in mind that the player trespassing cannot break any structures placed by the owner of the base. The trespassing player should also bear in mind that they are at risk of being killed by the player owning the base, or the player’s dinosaurs. The trespassing player is not allowed to kill other players in their own base unless they have initiated role play. Please see the Player Killing rule.

  • Importing Characters: The importing of characters is allowed and will remain enabled. This however is the only importation that will remain enabled.
  • Aggressive Dinosaurs: Player Dinosaurs are only allowed to be on aggressive if they are enclosed in a player’s base; meaning they cannot escape the walls that surround the base. Should an aggressive player dinosaur make its way out of the base, that dinosaur is a viable target for other players to kill. Players may kill the dinosaur and face no repercussions. Any dinosaurs, or players killed by the aggressive dinosaur must receive compensation by the offending tribe.
  • Importing Items: Please note that it is now considered illegal to import any items from other servers. Players caught importing items from other servers will have their items removed from their person. To those lucky few who managed to use this to their advantage before the admins learnt about it; they will not have their items removed, however they may not use them to their advantage during tribe wars.
  • Importing Dinosaurs: Due to unforeseen circumstances with item importing dinosaur importing is currently disabled. If a new player wishes to join the server they must speak to an admin with regards to importing their dinosaurs. Once an admin is consulted a date and time will be given to the player. That is the date and time that they will be allowed to import their dinosaurs onto the server. Each dinosaur must be brought in one at a time. The dinosaur must be unclaimed, and searched by the admin presiding over the import of the dinosaurs. This is to ensure no items are brought into the server by the player. The player is also subject to random search at any time during this process.
  • Offensive Names: We ask that all players refrain from using offensive names for both dinosaurs, and players. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an admin contacting you and there may be consequences.
  • Have Fun: We are all playing games to have fun. We wish you a pleasant stay on Taccor Gaming. Failure to have fun will result in our admins joining your TeamSpeak server and telling you very bad jokes.

-TeamSpeak

Feel free to join our TeamSpeak on; ts3.taccorgaming.co.za. Leaders of tribes must please speak to an admin to have their own TeamSpeak channel for their tribe. This TeamSpeak channel is on condition that the tribe is more than one week old, and has a player base of greater than three. The TeamSpeak channel will be removed if the tribe in question is not active on TeamSpeak for more than one week. This serves as a simple way for admins to speak to players, and discuss any situations that may arise. In the case of another tribe’s members joining your TeamSpeak with intention to harass, insult, etc. the player will be given a warning or kicked from the server/TeamSpeak. Please be respectful to other players at all times.

-Appeals

Should you feel an admin has treated you unfairly feel free to contact another admin on TeamSpeak. They will review your case and if they feel the admin who helped you previously was unfair they may choose a different outcome. Please note that the appeal process is the final decision. If you still feel that you have been treated unfairly by both admins please contact the server moderator. They can also be found on our TeamSpeak server.

We wish you well on Taccor Gaming!

Events

Events are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Players will be notified via the Facebook Page (www.Facebook.com/TaccorARK) as well as the website (http://mzpappii.wix.com/taccorgamingark) by visiting the Members page. Events are managed by admins. Players must be aware of the admin in charge of the specific event they are partaking in to avoid confusion with rules and prizes.

The following is a list of event with rules for each event:

    • Alpha Standoff – AS is currently our most popular event and is managed by Rex.

Alpha Standoff:

    • Alpha Raptor: The round will begin with 5 raptors (every round ONE raptor will be added to the amount)
    • Alpha Carno: 2 Alpha Carnos (Every round ONE Carno will be added to the amount)
    • Alpha Rex: 1 Alpha Rex. The round will end once the Alpha Rex has been defeated. The player now qualifies for the next round. (Every round ONE Rex will be added to the amount)

The second round: 6 Alpha Raptors, 3 Alpha Carnos, 2 Alpha Rexes.

The players must request to take part in the event. Request to do so from Rex or Necro. After the request has been accepted a player may either travel to the location by foot (47.7 Lat; 74.7 Lon) or request to be teleported to the arena. Be aware that teleportation is still glitchy.

    • A player may drop out of the event, only after they have defeated an Alpha Rex.
    • Only a maximum of 2 players in a team, may take part in the event at a time.
    • In the case of a player’s dinosaur dying, they may not be replaced by an admin or with assistance from an admin.
    • When a team has completed the event and has completed the most rounds done so far, they will be showcased on the website (http://mzpappii.wix.com/taccorgamingark) as well as the Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/TaccorARK)

The prizes for Alpha Standoff are:

  1. XP
  2. Items looted from the alphas
  3. A painted dinosaur

Players taking part in the event must be aware of the rules before requesting an admin to assist with the initiation. Players may be teleported to the arena.

Please note: Dinosaurs that died during the event WILL NOT BE REPLACED. The event is a last man standing equivalent and a player must complete a round by killing an Alpha Rex before they can drop out of the event.
